Cleveland Neighborhood
Cleveland is a neighborhood in the Camden community in Minneapolis. Its boundaries are Dowling Avenue to the north, Penn Avenue North to the east, Lowry Avenue north to the south, and Xerxes Avenue North to the west. To the west of Xerxes Avenue is the suburb of Robbinsdale. Some people believe that the neighborhood is named after former United States President Grover Cleveland, while others maintain it is named after Horace Cleveland, a landscape architect who framed the development of the Minneapolis Park System in the 1880s.
It contains the Fournier House.
The Cleveland Neighborhood is on the western edge of Minneapolis, bordering Robbinsdale. It is only 10 minutes to downtown Minneapolis, with quick and easy access to many suburbs. Beautiful Victory Memorial Parkway, part of the Grand Rounds trail system, borders the western edge of the Cleveland neighborhood with North Memorial Medical Center clearly visible on the other side of the parkway.
Living in Cleveland offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Cleveland there are a lot of parks. Many families and young professionals live in Cleveland and residents tend to be liberal.
