Chisago City

Chisago City is a city in Chisago County, Minnesota, United States, approximately 35 miles northeast of downtown Minneapolis–Saint Paul. The population was 4,967 at the 2010 census.

The city is between the twin lakes of Chisago Lake and Green Lake, and is part of the Chisago lakes region.

Transportation
U.S. Highway 8 serves as a main route for the community.

History
Chisago City was founded by Swedish immigrants in the 1850s. The city took its name from Chisago Lake. It was originally settled one mile south, but when the railroad bypassed the town in 1880, the city moved closer to the railroad, as often happened during that time.

Ki-Chi-Saga Days Celebration
Join the community to celebrate Ki-Chi-Saga Days, a great city festival with activities for all ages! This celebration hosts many events throughout the city. Here a just a few highlights. Enjoy one of the biggest craft/food/display shows in the area over 100 vendors where you will also find fantastic music concerts, children’s area by the dollar store, skateboard competition held by Maranatha Church at Chuckie Lundquist, fireworks at Paradise Park, street dance and fishing contest at Frankie’s, citywide garage sales, a grand day parade on Sunday finished off with a pie eating contest! This community celebration has been a great success because of our volunteers and donations from local businesses and others. Don’t miss this wonderful community celebration!

Aspen Cabin
Aspen Cabin provides quick access to our main rental halls. The cabin provides a vaulted great room with fireplace, kitchenette, 2 private bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and dining table w/ chairs. Sleeps up to 14 people. TWO NIGHT MINIMUM STAY REQUIRED.

Evergreen Cabin
Evergreen is located at the north end of Ojiketa Regional Park overlooking Green Lake and is our only DOG-FRIENDLY CABIN. This cabin has 5 separate rooms which include 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Amenities include 4 bunk beds, sofa, loveseat, dining table w/ 4 chairs, bookshelf w/ games, microwave, refrigerator, coffee-maker & toaster. Sleeps 8. MINIMUM TWO NIGHT STAY.

White Pine Cabin
White Pine is located in the northern portion of the park with beautiful view of Green Lake. The cabin includes 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath, full kitchen, dining area, fireplace, and furnished 3-season porch. Sleeps 8-10. MINIMUM TWO NIGHT STAY.

Paradise Park & Pavilion
Paradise Park is a 4-acre park that provides beautiful, scenic views of Chisago Lake. The pavilion at Paradise Park is available for use by residents for family and company picnics. There are 8, 10-foot, picnic tables located in the pavilion. Residents may use the pavilion without a reservation, but people with reservations take precedence on the shelter’s use. The park also offers a public swimming beach, fishing pier, dock, sand volleyball court, barbecue and picnic areas, children’s playground equipment, two large hillside slides, benches, and restrooms.

Paradise Park has been officially designated as “Chisago City’s Sledding Hill.” Hours of operation during the winter are daily from 8 AM to 10 PM. The park features benches and lights for the convenience of sledding enthusiasts.
